Russet Leaf Walk

"We are very blessed where I live with beautiful walks in the woods.  There is one such wood close to my house and we tend to bring the grandchildren for a ramble on sunday mornings when the weather is not too wet.  My favourite time by far is in the autumn when the leaves are deep on the ground. We don our wellie boots and go wading thru them. I have used deep dark russet tones of burnt umber, burnt sienna, indian red and yellow ocre to capture their depth and beauty.  Light and dark greys mute the distant trees.

I have put this painting together with a large wide black frame and a cream mount to emphasise the dark trees in the foreground.
